The Correct Supervision Skill Order for Trainees Part 5
Teach the final level — family guidance — with four questions and BST so trainees can actually train caregivers.
The final level is family guidance — if the trainee can't teach the skill to a caregiver, they're teaching dependency. Sherley shares the four questions she scores: do they explain simply (no jargon — can the caregiver repeat the goal in their own words?), do they model, do they make the caregiver rehearse (the most-skipped step), and do they give specific immediate feedback? That's BST again — but now the trainee is the trainer. Watch the full clip for what to listen for during a caregiver session.
